Yesterday we visited Big Wild Goose Pagoda learning calligraphy and the philosophy of Buddhism. We then strolled through the Muslim Quarter amidst the market chaos and saw the local Mosque. Our day finished with the overnight sleeper train from Xi’an to Beijing.
Student Torin Keeney: “Learning the history of Buddhism was fascinating. The crowded atmosphere in the Muslim Quarter was slightly intimidating but I loved being there with friends, picking up a bargain and generally just experiencing the madness of this completely different life”.
