Home Language (study your first language)

Develop their proficiency in the Home Language
across all four skills (speaking, listening, reading
and writing).
+ Expand vocabulary and literacy skills in the Home
Language.
+ Receive support and advice on the course
specification and assessment criteria, and
coaching in exam skills and revision strategies.
+ Receive support with acquiring resources for
independent study
+ Receive periodic support from a fluent speaker of
the Home Language.
+ Investigate and share aspects of cultural identity
and Home Language culture.
+ Take a proactive and independent approach to
language learning.
+ If continuing to 6th Form at Hautlieu, act as a
Language Ambassador for Year 10/11 students
taking the Home Language GCSE the following
year
